Squash Balls: What do the different coloured dots mean?
Double Yellow Dot / Professional
The Double Yellow Dot ball is used in professional competition. It has the lowest hang time.
Single Yellow Dot / Intermediate
Up to 10% longer hang time then the Double Yellow Dot Ball. Excellent for club players and cooler temperature courts.
Red Dot / Progress
Up to 20% longer hang time then the Double Yellow Dot. Longer hang time and higher bounce height allows longer rallies and doesn’t require the player to hit the ball as hard as the DYD ball.
Blue Dot / Intro
Up to 40% longer hang time then the Double Yellow Dot. Great for the beginner player. The extra hang time allows longer rallies, while encouraging players to feel the game of squash.
